Telangana agitation is all set to resume from TODAY June 19. The Telangana
Joint Action Committee (TJAC) will lay siege to Hyderabad, blocking
all roads in the state capital.
TJAC Convenor Prof M Kodandaram on Sunday said lakhs of people from across Telangana would come out and camp on the city roads and on the highways leading to Hyderabad.
“They will set up community kitchens, cook and eat on the roads as part of the 24-hour siege. ‘Hyderabad cooks on roads’ programme will bring the state capital to a complete halt,’’ he said.
The TJAC has also set June 25 as the deadline for all Telangana MPs and MLAs to resign. Kodandaram warned that if they fail to do so, then MPs and MLAs would not be able to visit their constituencies or villages.
“The TJAC has asked all MPs and MLAs of the ruling Congress and main opposition Telugu Desam Party (TDP) to resign if the central government failed to respond positively to the demand for a separate state. If the Centre fails to take a positive decision by June 25 all public representatives of Congress and TDP should resign and create a constitutional crisis. We will see to it that all the elected representatives resign,’’ Kodandaram said.
